2. Protocols: Protocols are the rules and procedures that govern the communication between devices in a network. Examples of commonly used protocols include TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), and FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

3. IP address: Each device on a computer network must have a unique IP (Internet Protocol) address. An IP address consists of a series of numbers that allows devices to be identified and communicated on a network.

4. Network Devices: A computer network consists of various devices, such as computers, routers, switches, and modems. Each device has a specific role in facilitating communication and data transmission on the network.

5. OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) Model: This model describes how network communication occurs in seven different layers. This layer includes physical, data-link, network, transport, session, presentation, and application.

6. Network Security: Network security is an important aspect in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data on the network. This involves the use of technologies such as firewalls, encryption and strict access policies.

7. Network Protocols: Network protocols are used to govern how data is sent and received on a network. Examples of network protocols include TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), UDP (User Datagram Protocol), and IP (Internet Protocol).

8. Subnetting: Subnetting is a method of dividing an IP network into smaller subnets. This allows grouping of devices based on needs and enables more efficient network management.

9. MAC Address: Every device in a computer network has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. MAC addresses are used to identify devices at the physical level in a network.

10. Wireless Networks: Wireless networks allow devices to connect to a network without the use of physical cables. This includes technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile networks.

Those are some of the basics of computer networking. Computer networks are very broad and complex, and continue to evolve along with technological developments.
