Proses MetanaTransportasi

The methane transportation process, whether in compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied form (LNG), involves a series of steps to move natural gas from its source to its final use. Here is a general process for methane transport:

1. **Extraction**: Methane is extracted from the source, such as a natural gas well or natural gas processing facility.

2. **Cleaning and Refining**: Extracted methane often contains contaminants such as water, sulfur, and carbon dioxide. Therefore, natural gas must be processed through a cleaning and refining process to remove these contaminants.

3. **Compression or Cooling**: If methane is to be transported as compressed natural gas (CNG), then the gas will be compressed to high pressure so that it can be transported efficiently in pressure cylinders. If methane is to be transported as LNG, the gas will be cooled to a low temperature (-162°C or -260°F) to convert it to liquid form.

4. **Storage and Packaging**: Compressed natural gas (CNG) is stored in sturdy and secure pressure cylinders. Meanwhile, LNG is stored in special tanks designed to withstand very low temperatures.

5. **Transportation**: Methane that has been processed and packaged is then transported via special pipes, tank trucks, or tankers to the final destination.

6. **Delivery to End User**: At the final destination, the methane will be received and used for various purposes, such as power generation, heating, transportation and industry.

The methane transportation process must comply with strict safety and environmental standards to avoid gas leaks and negative impacts on the environment and human health. In addition, the efficiency and reliability of the transportation system is also a major concern to ensure a stable and affordable supply of methane.
