This spider genus Habitat is in tropical and subtropical climates. And spread over the continent of Asia (from India to Indonesia), Africa, and Australia. Meanwhile, on the American continent there is only one species, namely Gasteracantha cancriformis.

For the poison itself, you don't need to worry, because Gasteracantha is an Orb Weaver spider (Weaver's Nest Wheel).

Usually the Orb Weaver Spider, the venom is harmless and lethal to humans.

And in the world it is estimated that there are 69 species and 18 subspecies of spiny back spiders. and finally the science that studies Profits is called Arachnology.

And the existence of the Thorny spider is very important for maintaining the balance of the natural ecosystem, namely as a predator and controlling insect pests, such as mosquitoes.
